At gameloft, we are trying to do localization in order to penetrate into China market. At the same time, I can sense a lot of Chinese game developers wanting to venture into international markets.
But so far, there are little talks about exporting china games into western markets. But cross border pollination will definitely have its challenges and hurdles — with one culture not being able to understand the other. But there is definitely a demand from Chinese game development companies wanting to go international.
In terms of the western market distribution channels, the channels are much more mature and straightforward to promote their games. It is very attractive for Chinese game developers to bring to the international markets.
